The RPO Methodology is to be used a framework or a recipe to achieve a desired outcome. When introducing a new skill and/or strategy in pickleball, the RPO methodology will provide an easy and repeatable formula for each coach. First, we must verbally define what we will be teaching. Second, we will demonstrate (in silence) the swing/shot/skill for our students to appeal to our visual learners. In pickleball, quite often our students aim to mimic out behaviors, which is why we stress a quality demonstration. And third, we detail the purpose. We answer the question "Why" which enables us to create an environment where our students fully buy in. From there, depending on the skill or strategy, we follow the outlined steps to get our students to achieve their goals!
